Frequently Asked Questions

Class 3 Mobility Scooters can be used on both the road and pavement. The maximum speed limit of these vehicles is 4mph on the pavement and 8mph on the road. You must be 14 years old or over to drive a Class 3 Mobility Scooter.

The Ignite Mini is a Class 3 Vehicle. This mobility scooter has two speed modes; Low (up to 4mph) for use on the pavements and High (up to 8mph), to be selected when driving on the road.

Mobility scooters are not legally defined as vehicles and therefore you do not need a driving licence or to pay road tax. You still need to register your Ignite Mini with the DVLA by completing a simple application form. This is included in the Welcome Pack. You must also be 14 years of age or older to legal operate the vehicle.

The Ignite Mini is not subject to Vehicle Excise Duty (‘road tax’). However, all new and used Class 3 vehicles including the Ignite Mini must be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).

Although it is not a legal requirement, we strongly recommended that you hold a valid comprehensive mobility scooter insurance policy. These polices cover your personal safety, other people’s safety, costs towards accidental damage and the value of your mobility scooter.

For details of recommended insurance companies please ask your local mobility dealer or contact us for further information.

Yes, you can. British law states that all public buildings must have disabled access – this includes mobility scooters.

Most major supermarkets are equipped with wider aisles. One of the reasons for this is to facilitate the use of mobility scooters and wheelchairs. If you are intending to use your mobility scooter in smaller shops we recommend you check with the store first.

Not yet, however many Scooterpac dealers offer a variety of finance options to suit your circumstances. Please contact us for more information.

A number of mobility retailers part of the Scooterpac Dealer Network offer finance and monthly instalment options. Please contact us for more information.

As part of the Scooterpac Promise, our products come with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. Unlike other mobility scooter manufacturers, the warranty period begins not when the mobility scooter is purchased by the dealer but when the customer purchases the scooter. Items considered to have a limited lifespan including batteries, tyres and windscreen wipers are not covered.

Backed by Scooterpac’s technical support and resources, all mobility retailers part of the Dealer Network are empowered to provide you and your Scooterpac mobility scooter with the very best after sales service.

We highly recommend that a service is undertaken every 12 months. This ensures optimal performance and safety. Please contact your local Scooterpac dealer for more information.

Scooterpac is the manufacturer, and as such, we provide our products via a network of dealers across the country. To find your nearest dealer please search our Dealer Locator.
